This excellent quality cacao from mountains of western Uganda is a product of Latitude Trade Co., a Certified B Corp. The cool wet climate of this area, just across the border from Democratic Republic of the Congo is know for longer box ferments creating a unique milky smoothness.
Bean Origin: Grown by over 4000 small farms in the Bundibugyo District in western Uganda adjacent to the Semiluki Forest National Park. This cacao is easy to work with just the right amount of intrinsic oil.

Tasting Notes: This Semiluki bar starts with the aroma of fresh butter mixed with floral notes. The flavor of mocha and floral are followed by milky overtones. There's some mild bitterness mixed with fig. This is an approachable bar that finishes with just a hint of astringency and some milky notes.
