Gran Couva, Trinidad
Sorry, currently out of stock
Grown, harvested, fermented and dried at the Montserrat Cocoa Farmer's Co-operative Society in the fertile "chocolate soil" of the Gran Couva region of Trinidad. This region plays a very important part in modern chocolate because it was here that the second most prevalent strain, Trinitario, was born. It was the result of a mid-15th century weather event, or perhaps a pest infestation or mold.
