Dark Forest Chocolate

Borne out of the need to improve the lives of the local farmers, Buena Nota Imports recently began importing and marketing this bean grown at Hacienda Azul small, family-owned farm in the eastern foothills of Costa Rica. Dark Forest Chocolate began using it in 2016 and now makes a 50% Dark Milk and 55% Goat Milk chocolate with these beans which have both won awards from the Academy of Chocolate and the International Chocolate Awards in 2017. This 65% Dark is a chance to let the beans shine on their own. This chocolate has a traditional, slightly sweeter, dark chocolate flavor. With very little bright fruit, it is the bass note in the band and pairs well with a full-bodied Cabernet or even a fruity Riesling.
