Maribea Chocolate

Bahia, Ilheus- Brazil

This bean is an albino forastero called Catongo. Both the flowers and beans are a stark white and the chocolate it produces looks like milk chocolate. The bean size and shape are more unusual as well, being quite small and oblong.  Since these beans are rare, the farmers work hard to keep these separate from the rest of the beans.
